Anyone used E-infinity ?

Yes but if E-infin sell it, drop Panamoz a message and see if they'll come closer to E-Infin's price. They may not, but they may knock a few bob off too

Agreed. Panamoz will regularly shift their price closer to E-Infinity’s if there is a significant disparity. In my experience they’ll stop short of matching it, quoting their far superior warranty. Which is fair enough.

Thankyou both and I have done just that on a couple of items!

Does anybody have experience returning goods to E-Infinity within 14-days. I'm curious if there are any extra taxes applied or I'm just paying for shipping it back? Also when sending it back do I specify the full price of the goods? In my case it would be over 1,500 EUR, just curious if customs are fine with it. I'm asking because I saw somewhere people saying that E-Infin evaluates the parcels like 100 EUR when shipping. Not sure if that's true.

I returned my lens to a UK address. So stating value is not an issue, I suspect they may just keep it to sell to someone else direct from the UK. As for customs value. I have never seen a low value declaration added to any shipping note, either internally or stuck to the box.

Reading through these posts, I ask why do people risk buying expensive grey goods, with all the hassles this entails, and with all the problems that a defective item or accidental damage will entail.

Looks like they play games with import taxes ans VAT as well.

The savings make it worth it to some buyers.

You tend to hear about problematic transactions. Successful transactions tend to be silent.

Some may. Some may not. It's not clear what e-infinity do as customers don't appear to deal with import - e-infinity handle that.

The savings on many items far exceeds the value of duty and VAT. (Which goes back to your first question .... and 'why').

So you might ask why manufacturers play games with retail pricing to customers in different markets. If they didn't then there would be much less scope for grey sales.

I just bought an RF 1.4 extender thru E-infinity as the price was the best around by far.
I ordered it on the 22nd, It shipped on the 25th and I received it on the 30th. So as fast as Panamoz.
Would I buy a lens from them, not sure, the Panamoz warranty is hard to over look but for an extender, it was not such a concern.

I've bought around 8 lenses from E-finity over the last few years and never had an issue; in fact I'm waiting for a Tamron 17-70mm to be delivered from them, which should hopefully arrive this week. I accept the risk that comes with purchasing grey goods and reckon I've saved thousands of pounds over the last 10 years.
A good analogy for me is when you buy any electrical goods in the UK and the seller tries to sell you their extended warranty. I've never bought one, and I can honestly say that in the last 30 years of buying electrical goods, I've never needed it, or regretted my decision not to buy it. On balance, if ever a problem does occur then I know I'm in credit for what I've saved on not buying extended warranties. I apply the same thought process to my photography gear.

Got it thank you. Just to make sure I understood you correctly. When sending the package back did you specify the actual value of the gear? Just want to be sure they'll do customs clearance on their own if needed without charging me extra money. I was confused because, from their point of view, they're importing the goods.

If it's sent within the UK it won't go through Customs. :)

I see. Sorry, I got confused by this. In my case, I'll be sending it from Lithuania though :(( I think I'll just specify the actual value and let E-Infin deal with it. I hope it will be fine. I'm a bit scared of specifying intentionally lower prices.

I only returned the lens to their UK address so it didn't leave the country. Therefore no need for a customs declaration.

I've just ordered another lens from them, been a few years since my last order. Good to see PayPal is still available makes any dispute easier.
See how long they take these days.

How did you pay with PayPal? Not available for me.
You have to enable it first, clicking between the MasterCard and visa logos at checkout and the PayPal option appears.

Already seen it still no joy, enable what? hidden option? Did you register and sign in?
No. Just added a lens to my basket, filled in my address then on the payment screen click a few times in-between the MasterCard and visa logos and it popped up just above.

That was on my phone in Chrome, also works on the works pc in Edge and Firefox.

A couple of things to check...

Make sure you have any add blockers turned off, refresh the browser window and try again.

Make sure you have any pop up blockers turned off, refresh the page and try again.

Same for any security software you may have that blocks popups or advertising banners.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I don't use any security software on my Mac.
Have double-checked the safari and no ad blockers.
Still no PayPal option.

Ah well...

I thought you had to click about 10 to 12 times in quick succession before Paypal option appeared. Been awhile since I bought anything from them so it may have changed now.

And yet the reply I got was.

"Please try the Paypal payment option by following the instructions
below if the problem persists,

There are a few steps for access to PayPal option:
1. Fill your shipping information as directed on our web.
2. Click the space between "Visa" and "MasterCard" ten times in the
"confirm order" stage.
2. Paypal option is now available.

Regards,
CS Team"

Just checked as well and still works.

I emailed e-infin recently about an item that they don't stock on the .com version of their website but is available on the e.u version of their website.

Paypal was available to me by following there normal method. I also received this back from them as well, which also mentions PayPal.
