These are by no means my favourite dune shots from the wonderful Namib desert but when choosing which to post, I thought it would be nice to show the effect of three different focal lengths on the same subject.

The first three were taken within 20 minutes of each other and the last 24 hours later.

Namibia is on my list - hope to make it some day - lovely images - well done

Each has its own appeal and 2 & 3 appeal to me the most, I would have been very pleased to have taken them. :)

Lovely images, looks a great place. #2 & #3 are my favourites buy I do like the figure in #4 showing the scale of the dunes. Must be quite a feat to climb up there.

All stunning shots, thanks for sharing.

Stunning images on your web site - makes me want to grab a plane ticket - each year we spend 7 or 8 weeks in S Africa, ( Feb onwards), and I keep looking at the possibilities on combining this with Namibia - but we are "getting on" and just wonder if it's advisable.

Excellent images evoking great memories. My visit 23 years ago was wonderful, Sossusvlei didn't disappoint, but I was lucky as the day we left there were huge storms and I drove back to Windhoek through flooded roads - not easy at night on gravel.

Very nice, I've got several taken in 2022 just like 2-4, but 1 is a fabulous viewpoint I missed, just happened to catch a Greater Kestrel landing in a tree between the road and the viewpoint so I turned to nature photographer rather than landscape

Thanks, to be honest we only went that close to the dune because somebody parked in the way but I'll remember that angle for next time!
