Canon R6 Question

Hi Stuart

First time I've read this thread, so firstly just wanted to say what a kind and lovely gesture this was.
I'm surprised to read your last comment that she hasn't used it, is she a little unsure of stepping away from the comfort of knowing what she has with the R10? Maybe ask her if she wants to keep it, if not sell it.

Before I met my wife 26 years ago I was heavily into mixing dance music and I had a pair of Technics 1210s in my flat, spent many hours on them, wish I'd kept them.
Then just after I met her in December 2000, I went up North to see my family for Christmas and was due back down here for a party just before New Year, and when my now wife asked if I was coming to hers before the party we were going to, I said 'I just need to go home first and put my decks up' (as I'd taken them with me), later she told me she thought to herself 'Awww Isn't he lovely, wants to go and put his Christmas decorations up first' :ROFLMAO:
Thanks. She has been talking about wishing she had bought an R6 for ages - saying she will get less noise in poor light etc. Im not one for expensive meals or trips abroad but felt I had to buy her this tool so she can get more out of her passion for photography - maybe even make money out of it.

I did ask her and she said she does not want to sell. She assures me she has not forgotten about it.

I will get back on this thread when she finally uses it!

Technics 1210 - they fetch a good price used still.
I had a great set up before marriage - valve pre and power amps etc - fab turntable - sold it all to pay for domestic expenses etc. Now I am divorced and getting into it again. I have a Rega 2 which I am happy with.

She has not touched the camera since I gave it to her on Mar 16.
If she’s been shooting the R10 with just her std zoom, she doesn’t have an equivalent for the R6.

Though there’s a chance she’s also a little intimidated by the new camera

I hope once she tried it she will find it a better camera and the R10 will be history. She can trade it in for a good lens.

Canon Rf24/105mm f/4L IS USM

She has had me order this for her. I think she will finally get that R6 out and use it.

She says the next one up is even better but beyond her budget.

The RF 24-105mm f/4L is an amazing lens, it's got a very good focal range, it's relatively light and produces very sharp images, a perfect walk around lens.

I have the next one up she talks about, which is the RF 24-105mm f2.8L Z, it's big, it's heavy, very expensive and definitely not a walk about lens, I shoot sports and need f2.8 which is why I went for this one.

I hope this new lens gets her out and enjoying what is an amazing setup. :)

Thanks - she is shooting indoor at a music festival this weekend and it wont come in that time. Still I am hoping she will finally use her R6 Mk2 as it is going to do a better indoor low light job than her R10. Im hoping once she has used the R6 she wont even bother with her R10 and maybe trade it in for something though she is clingy with possessions so may want to keep it.
