Excellent service for the Body and Lens from Panamoz, ordered Monday lunchtime and it arrived Friday morning. When I bought the 35mm GM and 20-70mm a few weeks ago it took 7 business days for delivery. The TC was too expensive from Panamoz so I bought from Harrison Cameras.

Love to know how you get on with that lens as a macro, I fancy a macro lens and it's between that and the 100mm Macro.
 
I took an evening trip out and took some pictures for the first time in about six weeks.

A7III and Voigtlander 35mm f1.4. Staithes. 0.8 seconds to smooth the movement of the water but keep the boats sharp.

I always worry about buying from eBay for things like this as there's so many fakes, is there a good way to check if they're genuine?

Usually it comes down to read and write speeds, if you can get the officially rated speeds that means they’re genuine, fake cards generally have about 10% of the quoted speed. :)
 
Anyone interested in the upcoming 100-400mm f5.6-8? I can’t see it being a big seller in the UK but it might be a decent cheaper option for this living in sunnier climates.
 
I've been thinking about the Tamron 50-400mm so I suppose I should add this to the list.

If I do get a long zoom I'll be selling or at least try to sell the rest of my MFT kit.

PS.
When I had Canon APS-C I had a Sigma 28-300mm. I still look at pictures taken with that lens.

Wasn’t aware there was another 100-400 coming out, just read up about it, not something I would own personally but cheaper options are always good.
 
The AI tools in PS2026 have really impressed me. It seems to work really well for removing things from pictures. This used to take a lot more time and care, at least for me.

I took this yesterday but I couldn't avoid getting a car bonnet in the frame on the RHS. PS took it straight out.

This one from our cruise impressed me. It took someone who was a step or so in front of her on the steps out really well and it kept her, the steps and the building intact.

I spotted another car in that first one, a red one in the distance, so I asked the AI to kindly take it out and it did.

I assume you can use these on mirrorless camreas?

I had one of these in my Canon DSLR days and I also had the 50mm f1.4 mentioned in this review. I do miss having a 50mm f1.4 but I haven't really missed the 85mm f1.4.

Unless I'm missing something you will need the A to E mount adapter for the Sony version or which ever adapter for the others.

Yes, the Sigma 85 f/1.4 EX DG HSM is an A-Mount lens - so either the LA-EA5 or LA-EA3 (since it's HSM) is needed, depending on which model camera you have (Older models use the LA-EA-3, newer the LA-EA5).

I have the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 EX DG HSM on my A7iv via the LA-EA5 and it works perfectly, so would imagine the 85 prime will also be fine.

Note: The 85 f/1.4 EX DG HSM is no longer in production, so you would need to find a good second hand copy.

I think so but to be honest although I can see the appeal I don't think it's something I'd do. I thought it was a good lens in its day but I have the Sony f1.8 and I think it's probably the better lens apart from the difference in aperture. I do miss the 50mm f1.4 but I have the Sony 55mm f1.8 plus two Sony mount 50mm Voigtlanders, f2 apo and f1.2.

SAR said it would be announced today but I’ve not seen anything so it’s still just a rumour at present.

Ah ok fair enough. :)

On another note, here's the speeds i am getting with one of the Pergear cards i purchased, this is through a TB5 port on my Mac Mini M4 Pro and the Pergear 4.0 CFE card reader, read speeds look ok but the write speeds are disappointing.

That’s not good :( I’ve not tested mine but file transfer is rapid, way quicker than any SD card or previous CFexpress cards I’ve used.

Absolutely no idea if they're fake cards now or whether or not they are just poor performers. Tried in multiple TB ports to see if it's an issue but it's the same on all of them.

Just had a quick google and Fstoppers tested them and got just over 500mb/s, still some way short of the published 700mb/s sustained read.

I’ll look into how to test them as mine were from Amazon. Nothing to say they’re genuine from Amazon of course.

Actually I’ve just remembered I registered mine for warranty so they must be genuine. When I registered they asked me to leave a review and gave me $20 for doing so. That means I got 2x 512GB Pergear Master cards for £300 which I thought was a bargain, relatively speaking of course ;)
 
What they claim and what is delivered are two different things.
Unless you have real, proven confirmation of faster speeds, I would be suspicious. Where did you get the cards from?

Yeah i understand, they were purchased through eBay, 100% positive feedback, loads of reviews for these cards so it didn't seem like too bad a deal.

Ill have to order from Amazon and compare, if they're the same then at least i can send them back via Amazon.
 
Manufacturers usefully have a bit of software that can check if your card is authentic.
