This was taken on the 19th July and the KF has lost some feathers. I have an image of the same KF a week earlier and there is a noticeable difference in feather lost

Breeding season is a tough time, most birds lose condition.
This....... and could be a the beginnings of a moult, from now until about November, they will replace their feathers. The eye looks bright enough and the bird seems alert, no worries on this one.
