They are working to add integration with Affinity Photo and apparently will be adding this to version 10, was tested in the beta version
As far as I understand will be able to use Affinity as part of the masking process to do things like changing backgrounds
 
Can you send images back and forth, between DXO and Affinity,, when processing, the way you can in LRC and PS ?

I don’t know any details but I believe that they are working on it at the moment at least in relation to integrating with Affinity when working with masking

I watched a couple of their what's new videos and it seems there are some changes that may interest some. I did download the demo yesterday and had a play with some of the features.

For those with previous versions, you'll recall that there is a Nik Collection button by the export button and this is now configurable with supposedly better integration with AFFINITY. You are able to add to the area - or remove the Nik button and can send the edited image to Affinity, then review the Affinity edited image in the gallery. Seemed to work pretty well.

I have this part of me that when I hear AI, shut down - but DXO 10 uses it more than in previous versions. Masking is better and gives a lot of options, I'm not convinced it is all useful but early days.

My biggest issue is that I know that I don't use DXO 8 (my current version) as fully as I should and I know that I should spend time understand what does what instead of fumbling my way around. It would be good to have a reference book to keep handy but with changes every year, understand that this is impracticable.
