Yes
My better half is looking for a pair of binoculars want something decent for occasionally going on wildlife holidays without spending too much :)

They make good rifle scopes, not the best but perfectly good enough. I see no reason why their bins shouldn't be the same.

Couple of mentions in this thread, seems they are pretty good

Thanks, the first trip will be whale watching and we have worked out that a slightly wider view, 8 x 42 will be about right
The Nikon Prostaff P7 8 x 42 look good and are waterproof

Are they as good as Swarovski(?sp.) or Leica? No - but they're a hell of a lot cheaper and have a very good warranty! I have a couple of pairs of their smaller folding bins - easily fit in a pocket so don't get left on the shelf for a normal walk. IF you're anywhere near a branch of the London Camera Exchange, try a selection out against the expensive competition and see if YOU feel they're worth investing in.

Thanks yes the Camera shop at Chester has them so can try them out

I have a pair of Celestron Granite inc the case and strap also front and rear optic covers , I was amazed the first time I looked through them , Almost high definition
12x50 ED optics , Look on YouTube for reviews , My pair could be for sale as I mostly use my Pentax spotting scope .

If you can try them in person it really makes a difference. People's face shapes and eyes are all different. Your wife may find she prefers the view through a different make or they aren't as comfortable to look through as the reviews suggest. I used Hawke 8x42 for a number of years before switching to Swarovski. I tried out the smaller version of 10x32 to be a little more lightweight to go with my camera. They still felt and looked decent but I ended up with a pair of Opticron

Their customer service is decent as well. Last year a friend dropped their compacts by accident and the eyepiece section broke away. They rang Hawke who asked them to send them in to inspect them. They got a phone call pretty quickly expecting a repair estimate but were told "We're sorry that shouldn't have happened and we are sending you a replacement pair foc"

I've not had Hawke before, but I have the Nikon Prostaff P7 8x30 for hiking and getting after wild deer and goats typically. For me, they are the sweet spot in all areas.

I'd definitely buy them again.

They had a sales rep at Scunthorpe last week. I didn't try any but I did see that they have a
