Mac Mini Disc Not Ejected Properly

I keep getting this message in respect of one of my external M.2 NVMe SSDs. I worked through the recommended fixes eg a new certified cable, changed the power settings, used a direct connection rather than use a hub etc, but it keeps coming back, in most cases I have not even used the drive. Possibly a faulty enclosure but other than the annoying message all is fine.

I have found a way to disable the message but thus is probably not ideal.

Anyone else have this problem?

Been getting this a few times randomly with ejecting SD cards from my external card reader on the iMac - didn't have the problem before updating to Sequoia 15.8.
If you updated to the latest macOs, did it relate time-wise?

Do you have the Mac Mini attached to a dock or hub? I get this occasionally with an external drive inside my Qwiizlab USB hub. I've always put it down to insufficient power from the Mini to the hub but, since the drive in question is redundant, I haven't got around to solving the problem

As you have already changed the cable and gone direct to the Mini, I would make the next test about whether the problem follows that particular drive/enclosure. If another computer is available, try the complete assembly there; separately, try one of your other external drives on the same Mini port. That will not prove which component is faulty, but it is more informative than hiding the notification. Note whether each warning occurs after sleep/wake or while the Mac is continuously awake, and whether only this volume disappears. Keep a current backup before doing repair tests: files opening normally is not enough to rule out a problem. What enclosure model, SSD model and macOS version are involved?

Surely it’s just a simple click on it to close it down . It’s just a reminder to close an external application after use or alleged use .

They should not need to be closed unless they are being removed. The other external drives are fine. It may just be Apple not playing with external drives nicely or the enclosure being faulty or not suitable.

It is :

Acasis 40Gbps M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure

WD_BLACK SN770 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD, M.2 2280 NVMe SSD

and the latest IOS.

I have had random won't eject USB stuff, at the moment it seems OK. My perception is that these happen around new versions of the OS and then they are fixed, quietly, by Apple with no fanfare.
