olympus om

I recently bought an om20 (mainly just to add to the collection) and the film advance lever has a ratchety quailty to it when you wind on. Is this normal? The winder to be fair is a plastic piece of crap compared to my om2n and even the om10. Is it meant to sound like this? It seems to wind OK...
