Took a manual focus Canon FDn 200mm f/4.0 that arrived in the post out for a spin at lunch time today; married to my Panasonic G2 to check it out, though it'll get some use on my FD film bodies too.

The first two were taken wide open at f/4.0, 3 & 4 were at f/5.6 and the last at f/8.

Absolute bargain!! Great quality images there.

Have they got any more send me the link??!!

Great work and a real bargain! :D

Rob, those look great from the FD lens. Do you use an FD adapter for your camera, if so which one? I can't get those results with my FD-EOS adapter. Macro is OK, but infinity is useless.

I bought this adapter from ciecio7 on eBay. These were taken with my m4/3 Panny G2, not the 5D, so no extra glass in the way.

Minimal lateral CA, but there's some longitudinal CA that's hard to correct. However, it is sharp, especially considering it's having to work twice as hard as it would on full frame 35mm. ISTR reading that the 200mm f/4 wide open is the equal of the f/2.8 stopped down.

100% crop of #1, and this is at f/4 :)

@ alanmossdan:

The FDn 50mm f/1.4 is no slouch either, though. I think this was about f/2.8

I imagine the easier availability of converters is why FD lens prices are shooting up on Ebay though. Some of them are going for a lot of money!
