10-20 vs 580ex mkII

Hey,

I was all set to purchase a 10-20 sigma for my 40d but then the chap on here that sells things put a 580ex up at £245(£205 with CB) so now im in a pickle....

I currently have a 420ex so the question is what shall I get...

Bit of a useless post really but I just need to vent my confusion.

get the lens!! unless you use your flash 99% of the time!

I think I may pop into CameraWorld tomorrow and see if they have any used examples...if not a new one maybe :clap:

Onestop Digital do them for £250.

Its your best bet.
They import from hong kong, but if you DO get charged import tax, you can reclaim it from OSD themselves.
Only takes about 4 days to arrive.

That is true but i'm very wary about buying this lens considering its softness issues.

Any problems regarding that could be a nightmare.

And I have a very good relationship with CameraWorld and would rather send some business that way and pay the extra £30 knowing the service, should I get any problems, will be A1.

I bought mine from Jessops, for the reasons foodpoison mentioned above.. used their price match and paid £289.99, bit more than I could've paid, but I knew i could take it back if there was a problem

Looks like you already decided on the lens, which is a great choice. I bought one at Focus on Imaging last month, it's fantastic. I really like the view at 10mm and it produces some interesting results, especially with the distortion. I even got a sharp copy
