10 stop filter for a Nikon 14-24 lens

With my new Nikon 14-24 purchase I am now looking at filters. I will be buying the Lee Sw150 kit with a few other filters however Lee don't do a big stopper for this lens. So what are you using and could you post a pic? I see Hitech and another do a 10 stop filter but its expensive which I don't mind paying for if its going to give little or no colour cast.cheers.
 
Hi Mark

I use the SW150 Grads and the Hitech IRND 150x150 10 stop. I previously had the 100mm kit and the associated Big Stopper and I reckon there's a tad less colour cast with the Hitech than the Lee. There's very little in it to be fair but the point is the IRND Hitech stuff is very neutral.

The obvious issue using a 10 stop with the SW150 kit is excessive light leak. I had to bodge a gasket to replicate the one provided with the normal Big Stopper. I've been meaning to make a tidier version but this one works pretty well so it'll have to wait. Apologies for the rubbish photos but it'll give you an idea of its application etc. D & E show with and without.

Thanks for the reply. Exactly the info I needed. I didn't know there was a light leak issue with the Hitech 150 filter so I'm glad you replied. Would really like to be able to put a 10 stop on when needed so I hope the cast is as minimal as you say. Will likely end up buying one after a little bit more research. Many thanks. Any pics taken with the filter?
 
Yes, the light leak is an issue with any 10 stop unless it's got a gasket of some sort. A member of this forum made a really good little video giving his opinion of the IRND 10 stop. Youtube'll have it.

The only image I can find with the above combo is this. Not much help with the colour cast question!:

If you do attempt it spend an additional fiver and get a circle cutter. It'll save your sanity believe me!
