I recently bought a 12-24 Sigma EX DG to use with my 5D2, it came from Jessops, but on trying it I found the focus way out. So I returned it for a replacement, the replacement came and this was the same. To be fair to Jessops I got a full refund today with their apologies, so no problem there. The guy in Jessops said that the reason could be that with the lens being about 4 years old and trying to use it with a camera made with the latest technology and with it not being Canon that they may be a slight incompatability problem. Has anyone else come a cross this as a reason for this sort of thing, to be fair to the chap in Jessops he did say he wasn`t sure. Or does anyone else have this lens and using it successfully on a 5D2.

Cheers
Ian

I've heard others whoo use it with a 5Dmk2 without issue. The lens is famous for the number of poor copies in circulation

I use this lens on a 1DS MKII, and previously on a 40D, great lens, very sharp, and wiiiiiiide on a FF camera.

Thanks for the info.

I thought you used this lens, Les, I only had it for a few days but I loved how wide it went and I am disappointed with the fact that I had to get a refund. :(
I will probably now go for the 17-40L, but nowhere near as wide.
