1st beach scene set. How Can I Improve?

I've done the best I can with grad filter settings etc. and I'm not sure if the blown out sun can be helped or even if it adds/detracts from the effect of these. Any advice gratefully received.

1 and 4 are very good indeed the other 2 are pretty good as well. I might be tempted to lose the woody stuff bottom left in No. 1 but then you would lose the sun, might work as it is a bit blown.

Thanks, Andy. Yes, I played around with one cropped that way. I may pull it out and post it. I was also thinking of a simple crop of the top down to past the sun? That way I'll keep a nice thirds going with the couple. Worth a shot?

All pretty good, but with flaws

First, probably the weakest of the bunch, the figures are looking out of the frame-they have nothing to look into.

Second is better, a lot more balanced, but the sun is too hot.

Third I'd crop a touch from the right to pull the figure into one of the thirds.

Fourth is good, but the lens flare hurts it.

I'd check your horizons also-they look slightly out.

That's great, thank you. What can I do to cool the sun down a bit in these? I have lightroom 2 and CS4.

I did check the horizons in lightroom, but I may have wonky eyes. ;)
 
I've just double checked #3 and Ali is bang on the third. Thought she was. :)
 
I've straightened the horizons in 1 and 4 now. They were a teensy bit out. You have good eyes!
 
I think you're right, its lost something. Shows what I know.
