Hi All

As the title suggests this is my first time at photography of any kind and I am posting some pictures here to get your C&C's. In my opinion there is not enough movement in the pictures and the weather was a bit dull but I would like your comments to help me to improve as I am very keen to learn. Please be honest with me.

Pictures have had no processing and just been resized to fit in my gallery

Chris

abit of pp on the head on's would be great, i havent the time tonight to preform an edit.

the side on a tad slower shutter, however not much else you get the car blurring to.

But all are great for as first time effort,

Wish my first efforts had been as good as that. As russdaz says maybe they need a wee bit of work but you should be pleased with these :)

Lovely and sharp, and well done for your first time. If you are after the "movement" of fast racing, try a slightly slower shutter speed. A high one certainly captures the clarity, but it makes things look frozen. If you slow the shutter speed down, and "pan" with the car as it passes, you can get the background blurred and the car sharp (in theory ;)).

I think these are a great start.

Thanks for the comments

I am pleased with these but my eye in not as trained and most of the people on here.

Any ideas on what you would do to improve them with photoshop.

whats the legal situation with rallying on brightons roads?
i always thought it was illegal to race or rally on the queens highways.
i know birmingham got special permission a few times, though.

Its New Brighton, and they've been doing this for years so I can only assume its fine :)

Yes it is New Brighton in the Wirral and it has been running since the early eighties I beleive

It was a really good free day out and would reccomend it.

Website below so you can keep and eye out for next years dates

I'm sad I missed this, as I didn't think they still did it. I saw one a number of years ago when the foot and mouth outbreak was about. Just shows how good their advertising is. ;)

The pictures give a good idea of the place it's set in. It's great to see the old Escorts. A more exciting car to watch rallying. ;)

I just like seeing the classics leave the newer cars behind

Quite satifying when a MKII escort leaves a 3 year old ex WRC Subaru for dust on the back straight.

And dont get me started on the sound of a Metro 6R4 !!!!

You don't have allow edit's ticked in your profile so if you want me to take these down again just say so.

Here's my take on a couple, levels, curves, saturation and sharpen.

Thats one thing that I think is quite bad about the mainland, overhere you can close roads just not on sundays, in the republic they can close them on any day.

Rallying on tarmac here vastly outnumbers gravel rallys.
