20D price?

My other half is really keen to get into photography and has fallen in love with witht he canon 550d.
Unfortunately it's well out of my price range. But I do know someone with a 20d for sale, but he doesn't know what it's worth.

I need to make him an offer for the body, which will also include a grip and 50mm 1.8.

Anyone blought/sold one lately?

Also, if someone has had a shtter replaced in one recently too, it would be good to know a rough cost of that just in case it needs doing soon.
