Hi All,

Well last week I got bitten by the macro bug... and on Friday the wife treated me to a Sigma 105 macro lens

Here are some shots from my first 24 hours of rummaging in the undergrowth!

C&C needed as this has already been a very steep learning curve!

1. Nothing great, just the first shot with my new lens :D

Good first day out. Macro is great fun and rewadring when you get decent shots like these(y)(y)(y)

Hi eeverson I got my 105 on Friday to tried mine out today great little lens. you've got some good pics there but Ithink you need a bit more DOF try F11 upwards see how you go #1 my favorite. (y)

Congrats on your new lens and a great start too, I really like you combfooted spider series and agree with Tomas, #6 is a cracker (y)

Thanks everyone for the comments.

I will try upping the aperture to f11 and above and see what i can get :D

Thanks Alby for the spider ID, I am off to invest in a insect (and spider!) ID book of some sorts later today!

Cheers

Great shots on a first outing, good to see another with the macro bug :)

Good stuff... I have that lens too and love it.

Just a tip... the shot of the green shield bug is focused on its back but you were using F2.8.

You will get larger depth of field by shutting down to F16 or more, this may mean using a tripod but I think most macro shooters do. (y)
