2x TC

I was looking on Kerso ebay shop and noticed that he has 2x teleconverters on there. I have a 1.4x TC and wondered if I buy a 2x TC to use with my 70-200mm IS F2.8 would it just make it the equivalent of the 100-400mm IS F4-5.6 that I already have?

Would make it a 140-400mm IS f/5.6

So, infact, you'd be better off with the 100-400 f/4-f/5.6

Thanks, I thought it would be a waste.

I admit I was drawn to it by Diego Garcia's rugby pics and his coupling up with it on his 300mm 2.8. Now that would be nice!

I agree with Bob, I think you can just about get away with a 1.4x on a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, I have tried a couple of times using the 2.0x and haven't been pleased with the results. The 2.0x works well on my 300mm though.
