Hi guys

I'm hoping to shoot my first football match on Saturday. Now the weather forecast isn't too good. I have bought a Think Tank rain cover off Ebay, but the seller is messing me about so it doesn't look like it will arrive in time:bang:.

So my question is just how weather sealed is this lens? I know it technically doesn't have sealing but have any of you used it in light rain. I am shooting with a 7D so no worries with the camera getting wet.

Cheers

Phil

You could always put the camera and lens into a plastic bag with the bottom cut open. Just tape the open end to the lens hood. Worth a go.

Can you get someone to stand over you with an umbrella? or even strap one to a spare tripod?

I've used a bar towel lying along the top of that lens before. Works well. Otherwise, the Optech raincovers from Warehouse Express are excellent and quite cheap

Judging by these DIY waterproof replies I take it I shouldn't try my lens in light rain lol. Anyway not to worry as I have been assured by the Ebay seller my Think Tank Hydrophobia will arrive in time for Saturday so I should be ok.

Thanks for replying guys...if only i'd thought of the waterproof trouser design a little earlier:D

:agree: Optech are cheap look cheap but do the job superbly. They keep your camera dry in the worst of weather, the one down side i've found is using the camera controls is a bit awkward.
