400D replacement time

I've fallen out of love with my 400D and lenses (50mm prime, 10-20 sigma, 55-250 Canon and kit lens) purely because of the bulk of it all . I just don't get the time any more to take it out or set it all up

I am really looking to get rid of all the above and get something fairly compact that will still have the great image quality that comes from the 400D and have the range of wide/zoom options.

I started to look at super zooms/bridge cameras but the image quality in them seems terrible- almost mobile phone like with high compression and serious lack of detail.

I then looked at the new mirrorless cameras and I would almost be back to square one wouldn't I with a bag of lenses?

Then the X10/G12 popped up on the horizon and the s100....I just don't know where to start!

So, does this holy grail of SLR replacement that fits in to a small bag exist??

So am now looking at the following:

Fuji X10- white orb issue putting me off though
S100- Very compact but maybe too basic?
G12-Maybe a bit too clunky
G1X- See G12
Panasonic LX5-Bit old perhaps?

Then I suppose the only other option after that is the Sony Nex 5-N

Any opinions/ suggestions?
