40D and eye-fi

Anyone managed to get an eye-fi to work in their 40D using a SD to CF adaptor? If so was it very good? Looks like I'm covering some events at our friends local stables and I thought it might be an easier way of working, rather than running to and fro with CF cards for my assistant (sister-in-law, lol) to print off.

I've done a little research and it would appear that it's a bit hit and miss. The older cards should work but the latest ones don't.

Maybe its just the 40D but we have a guy who uses an Olympus E600 or something and uses an SD to CF, its stripped down removing the metal shield but it works fine. We have the X2 pro card and one of the old home video cards both work fine.

The fact the 40D doesn't take SD cards is why the eye-fi site says it isn't compatible, the converter should make it work.

Cheers John. I had read on a couple of sites there were compatibility problems with the x2 cards and convertors. I will have to see if a friendly store will let me try one out.

According to Eye-Fi tech support if you use one of their cards with a CF adapter then sooner or later you will lose data.

I've used one in a D3 via an adapter. Then I used it in a G9. Card corrupted and I lost all pics (well, after 2 days I had most back). EyeFi gave me a new card.

BTW never EVER use an EyeFi in an reader other than the one you get with it. They really don't like it.
