I have a 450D with:
- 77mm Tokina 11-16
- Kit lens
- 67mm Canon 70-200 F4 L
- Screw in CPL's for each lens
- Screw in ND 106 77mm
- screw in ND Grad 77mm
- Tripod

I shoot various, but would use grads for landscape and scenic shots. Hills, trees with intersting sky, sunset, water etc.

I have made the mistake of buying a 77 ND Grad screw-in for my Tokina and would like alternatives. I preferred would like to go with Lee, but not sure exactly what I need in terms of actual filters, holders etc.

Would it be possible to use lens hoods with the filters or not?

Would it be possible to get one holder with stepping rings so that all the filters and holders work on all lens that I have?

Would I still be able to use my screw in CPL's or not with a holder system?

Thanks

You can purchase a hood which will accept filters now. However I would suggest you could start with the starter kit http://www.leefilters.com/camera/products/range/ref:I46CBFACFBD385/

The beauty of the Lee kit is you just buy 1 filter holder one set of filters, which can include the polariser (not cheap) and then the inexpensive adaptor rings for each of your lenses. Suggest you check out the link & explore the site.

As peter said, lee is a great system, wouldnot be without mine now. The biggest expence I had when I got mine was getting a cpl to work with the holder, the cpl needs to mount on the front of the holder, no issue lee do an adaptor ring, £30-40 iirc, then the cpl, which is 105mm I got the b&w kasmann which was £230ish.

So I would need the actual holder itself, and then adapter rings for each sized lens? That's cool.

I would rarther not start with the starter kit. Rarther get the whole thing from the start - it would just waste money to go thought various kits - already wasted money on a screw-in grad.

Now that's out of the way, just not sure which sort of grads I need now for my sort of photography.
