As the subject says really. What do you prefer for portraits and kids photography in general? I have only tried the default single point af so far. I was going to try spot and expansion af's too to see how i get on. Which do you prefer?
I'm not sure what you mean by spot af. I have tried the different af setting and find that if I can use single point af I do because of it's accuracy. I would not consider using anything but single point for portraits. To me the focus point on portraits is to important to let the camera pick the exact point. When it comes to a fast moving subject where just getting the shot is priority then I will expand the points but just enough to accomplish getting the shot.
Spot AF because it's more accurate than the single point (I'm lazy and leave it on that for everything I shoot). Then either single or servo depending on what the subject is doing.
