For a wedding and portrait package upgrade what would be best.

1.
5Dmk2
24-70mm f2.8
70-200mm f2.8

2.
50D
24-70mm 2.8
70-200mm 2.8
10-22mm f3.5-4.5

I would say the 5dmk2

If they're the only 2 types of shots you'll take, then the 5d mark II will win hands down for sheer image quality..

Have you thought about saving money on the 70-200 2.8 in the 5D2 package. Of all the weddings ive done, i havent needed anything past 105mm and when i look at all the mm's most of them are at 50. Some people may disagree, but i never see the need for a whacking great lens for weddings, unless you are doing it in St Pauls Cathedral.

Whereby i now move onto, dont get the 70-200 2.8, get the 50mm 1.4 or even better maybe the 1.2L.
A decent prime will do you more favours at a weding than the zoom.

Wedding and portrait = 5D2 (Beats the 50d hands down on ISO and colours and others, plus it's a FX camera.)

If you're taking photos of anything that moves faster than walking pace, then 50d.
