5dmk2 problem w/ lens? Opinions?

Following my post on my possibly iffy 70-200mk2 ISII i've tested it with a colleagues 5dmk2. Looking at the results my camera's focusing at infinity is definitely not right (same problems at closer distances but not as exaggerated). What's the best way to get this sorted? I've experienced similar problems with other lenses. Here are the test shots, settings below - same on both camera's:

Lens (mm): 70
ISO: 400
Aperture: 8
Shutter: 1/400

I think we need some more info about how the shots were taken and how the cameras were set up before we can diagnose the situation.

How did you focus, and what did you focus on? I note that the framing of the two shots isn't the same, so if you were using centre-point AF, then the two cameras weren't focussing on the same point.

Did you use the AF micro adjustment on both cameras? What settings did you end up with?

Are both of these pictures from RAW images, processed identically? If not, was the in-camera JPG processing and the picture style set up identically for both cameras?
