60D Remote

I have just bought a canon 60D and hope to control it with remote control on a tripod and wonder which is the best one. The more I look the more confused I seem to get. Can anyone recommend one please.

I bought a cheap wireless remote from ebay years ago, works fine, so I'd have a look there.

Wireless - RC1 or RC6 (these will only work from the front of the camera)

There is an iPhone app called Dslr remote, the only downside is that you need to have the 60d connected to a computer and the iphone connected to the same wireless network! But it even streams live view to the iPhone and gives access to almost all camera settings! It's handy for remote cameras etc!

Cant find much info on the RC1 or RC6 and not sure if they will work the video or just trigger still shots.

Decide what you want to do (video, stills, both; do you need to ba able to control anything else in addition to the shutter button?) and it will be easier for people to suggest something. I was about to suggest a stills option, but if you now want video as well..

The ultimate remote control is a laptop (possibly a netbook, I've never tried), USB (up to 1.5m) or active USB (to 25m) and EOS Utilities.

I want to do both video and still but am only looking to start or stop and not to adjust settings.
