Is there anywhere to buy an official Canon tripod ring? Is it true that they're £80? :nono:

i got a 'for canon' one in the canon colour for £8 about 6 months ago... It is however, from china, and not real canon, but looks identical and does the exact same job.

I have the cheap one for my Pentax 300mm f4 as its the same size and I lost mine, Very good quality for the price. Of course I had to scratch the Canon bit off

i bought one from amazon, looked ok, fitted it to my 70-200, put my gripped 40D and tc on.....when the tripod ring snapped i was very lucky that my camera strap had caught round the tripod or it could have been expensive......my advice, don't risk it ! buy a canon one they don't break
