I am really impressed with the battery on the 7d. It isn't exactly the warmest here at the moment. Today, got to 993 shutter actuations on the battery, before it started to flash that it wanted changing.

Admittedly, this is without live view, but

I was reviewing shots every ~15 shots. I was using a 100-400L with IS ON for all of the shots. Shots were take with AI-servo, and with the high-speed shutter on.
I think that is pretty good going there.

The 5D mk II is no slouch either.. took it on a week's holiday, battery didn't need charging and still going strong when we got home!

One thing Canon have definitely got right

A.

I get around 500 shots with lots of reviewing and the occasional video. My 7D currently shows 441 pops with 20% battery remaining.

I have a 450D. I regularly get well over two thousand shots from a single battery, in warm weather, without using live view.

Got a tip from here for searching for 7D or 1D and the like. It says it's too short, so go to google advanced search and put 7D in the search box and www.talkphotography.co.uk in the "Search within a site or domain" box

works a treat and you dont have to wait 30 seconds between searches either

got a grip (2 batteries) on mine so lasts forever, even out in the cold - very impressed, not like the battery on my 3Gs were you just show it some cold air and it loses about 20%
