Hi all,i will ordering a 7D from kerso this week and i wanted to know what memory card would you recommend to go with it for birds and wild life pics,
Are some cards faster than others ?,
regards john.

I'd reccomend 8GB+ cards. I have several 4GB cards and sometimes it can be a pain when I fill a 4GB quite quickly and have to change.

Just my 0.02p but I'm intending to get an 8 or 16GB card or 2 soon.

Sandisk Extreme III works fine in my 7D and 40D. You can get the faster and significantly more expensive Extreme IV version, but it is not at all needed unless you shoot bursts of 20+ frames at 10fps. Sandisk are not the cheapest, but they are very well respected and perform excellently.

edit:Just orrder two or three of these.

Unless you are a multiple fps shooter the the Ultra II work just as well including video. High speed cards clear the buffer more quickly and you may save a couple of minutes when downloading to PC, but otherwise ultra high speed cards seem a wasted expense to me.

The high speed cards also allow you to get the info off the card to your pc quicker too. Ultra II cards are indeed fine - just depends what you want to pay for :).
