7d mk2 battery life 2 second time lapse

Hi,

I am going to do a time lapse with 7d mk2 and will being setting camera to take image every 2 seconds. Has anyone have any idea on the battery life if fully charged please?

No idea sorry, but a 50D ran for 6 hours taking an image every 15 secs and still had power left when I changed the battery. I linked via usb and used the canon software to write to a laptop hard drive so we had timelapse of a new piece of kit being delivered and installed over 12 hours.

Are you going to have the write speed for evey two secs? Might have to think of jpeg rather than raw?

The time lapse is of a construction of building. just been watching you tube and one suggests every 5 to 15 minutes for that sort of time lapse.

That sounds about right if you think how slowly a building goes up, depending on its construction method, but that's quite a long project to not move the camera. It might be easier to do with a HD webcam that records to a PC?

only doing about 8 hours over one day. Think my problem will be CF cards!

This is a page I found which shows how to calculate time with 1 minute of playback over 8 hours time lapse. I worked it out to be 3.75 images a minute if I am reading it correctly.

Link the camera to a PC with the USB cable and use the canon software that comes with the camera and there's time lapse software with that. One of the options is to write to the connected PC hard drive, so you don't need to worry about filling the card, but one image every 5 mins gives you time to change anyway.
