My old Canon 350D writes photos into sequentially numbered folders such as 585CANON with 100 photos per folder, but the Canon 7D just puts them all into the same folder 100EOS7D.

Is it possible to change a setting on the 7D to do the same as the 350D? I have looked through the manual and googled it, but cant find anything that says it is possible. Anyone here help?

Thanks

Stephen

I dont think you can, but when I owned a 350D, having the seperate folders for every 100 photos was a PITA - having them all in one folder is so much easier IMHO

You can create folders and put them in there. go to the 7th menu item along and choose "Select folder"

It is an option, but that is something I would have to do manually - the 350 just did it automatically.

Just found a post, and also the page in the manual, that talks about this - and it appears that once the file numbering reaches 9999 then the folder name is rolled on to 101EOS7D etc.

Oh well guess I'll have to live with it

I tend to download my pics after taking them and then re-format the card anyhoo, so it's never bothered me faffing with folders
