Can anyone tell me how to set the AF Spot Focus on the 7D. I've read various items and watched tutorials but can't get it activated. I've no problem setting the AF point/s or what ever but I just can't get the square within a square for the spot focus. Does it only work with certain Fstop settings as one tuitorial seemed to suggest.

Have you activated it in C.FnIII 6 You will see the options there and it should have a tick by the AF focus selections that you want.

As Trev says, it needs to be activated in custom functions along with another AF option which I can't recall off-hand.

EDIT.
The 7D comes with the 2 options disabled by default.

Cheers guys. I've tried that but I can't find a way to get the cursor to highlight the spot focus box in the custom settings menu:shrug:
 
I think you have to get the cursor highlighting 'Register' and then you can scroll through all the options and tick or untick them?

All done with the 'SET' button and thumbwheel on the back of the camera. Don't forget to highlight 'Apply' when you have have the options ticked, then press the 'SET' button.
