85L changing...

After receiving this lens today, I noticed how the glass at the end of the lens is flush, which makes changing to / from this lens very fragile process.

Does anyone who uses this lens change outside, any neat trick to doing so, i want this to be my new street photography lens and chuck the 70-200 in the cupboard.

Anyone else thinking about this lens, i would say the focusing is not as sluggish as some suggest...

My 85mm L has a lip at the end, and with the filter on it it is fairly well protected.

The only issue I have is that it is really heavy, and have to be careful putting on the body that I don't bring it down too hard

I think Blinkerz is making reference to the very limited protection for the glass at the back of the lens.
I just make sure I "do it by looking" rather than the usual "do it by feel"
