Critique A Burst of Colour & a Daffodil

A burst of colour and a single daffodil caught my eye. I would welcome feedback and critique as I sometimes find it difficult to be objective with my photographs after looking at them for some time.

Definately not boring, Chris. That is a cracker of a background. A background like that will overpower all, but a bold subject. The daffodil (nice though it is) is a bit "lost". A big crimson tulip could work there, I think.

Appreciate your feedback. I see what you mean about a stronger colour in the solo flower, I think this was a random daffodil, more accident than design, it was in a bed on Morecambe seafront (went to visit the art-deco hotel).

i think with flowers singular one should concentrate on that one
your background would be better desaturated

Thanks for your feedback Geof? You're right about the Background being a little too dominant, either than or the daffodil being a bit too subtle for the vivid background. I'll try some adjustments in LR.
