Great first effort as your getting used to the camera ( i take it they were on the new Nikon )
the colour pic is a little out of focus tho, maybe you were a little too close for the lens , or your daughter moved slightly, but i think the former, with an image like that its the eyes that need to be pin sharp, the rest you can usually get away with
have you got any post processing software ? photoshop or similar ?
the first image could do with a little bit of adjustment to give a little ' punch ' in monochrome , but its a good start m8,
well done, and top marks for puting em up on the web

The pixel police will be along shortly to break your links - file size has to be less than 160k. Image sizes are fine (800pixel limit).
Second one the camera has chosen to focus on the zip instead of the eyes. Don't know anything about Nikons but you can prob choose which AF point to use yourself in the settings somewhere.
