A Few Compositional experiements....

Fortunately I have a daughter that like being photogrpahed, wanted some C&C from you guys to see if you think these work.

Now, its a shame, because both are lovely and natural and colourful... yet... she isnt smiling in either of them, and you can see right up her nose!

Despite the fact she isn't smiling, I think the Dof and composition is brilliant in both.

cheers guys, I can see both POV, sometimes photo's work with or without a smile, I thought without a smile it added a bit of mood to the photo.....but it may have wokred better with a smile Also an up the nose shot isnt the best but I took the risk as I liked the angle she was at.

Totally disagree with Betty - Bit like saying you can see into a childs ear when taking a pic from the side. Composition on the 1st is incredible and so different from the norm. I don't have an issue with the lack of smile as :-

a) children don't smile all the time
b) it adds a bit of mystery to what the child is feeling / thinking.

Not for me. Nobody likes being shot up the nose both feel very cramped to me as well.

You're lucky to have such a willing subject though, and that's a cool dress.
