The robin isn't actually a real zoo attraction, by the way. :D It was just there.

I've added a little tiny bit of zoom blurring to the background in number 1. I think it adds to it, but can't decide if it's noticeably "fake".

C&C welcome. :)

You have some nice captures there, absolutely love number 1 for the pose and such rich colour :)

Great set, superb shots of the Jaguar and penguin:)

see now I should have looked at yours first before I posted mine.... now I feels inferior :crying:

Lovely pictures well done

Any hints/tips Gritty? going tomorrow and my brother currently has my tripod (i probably wouldnt have taken it anyways) what do you think to taking a monopod along for the day? I have 18-55 kit lens, 50 1.8 and the 70-200 F4, hoping for good weather!

I took my monopod, but didn't use it once. Everything was handheld. As long as the weather's pleasant enough then you'll have a fast enough shutter speed to deal with almost everything. IS helps, of course.

I took my nifty fifty to get a few of the indoor exhibits:

It depends how patient you are. The tigers weren't very forthcoming when I was there, and there was a bloke stood with his Sigma 500mm on a tripod for blooming ages. That wasn't for me, I'm afraid. I didn't fancy spending all day stood at one exhibit. :D

You should be ok on a weekday, but on a weekend the afternoon gets really busy with kids bumping into you and whatnot, which gets a bit frustrating.

Have fun. (y)

Thanks good to know - I work at Knowsley Safari Park myself so have some idea what to expect just havent been to Chester since I was 5, dont know the layout, what animals they have or anything!

Nice set! The penguin is different, like it!
