A Prairie Storm Rolls

The storm rolled in, dark and turbulent. The old barn had withstood a hundred of its predecessors, but each had taken its toll. Was this the one that might finally win?

They must have built that good & strong! Be a shame to see it finally collapse.Was that sky real?

Was that sky real?

Yes and no. We had a storm here in Bismarck this summer...and the sky is what we had over our house. The barn is about 100 miles from here...and the sky on the day I took the barn picture was cloudless and pale blue. Rather uninteresting, though very tame. LOL

I always am a bit torn between art and realism. There really have been a hundred storms or more that barn has weathered, I'm sure. So I suppose showing real North Dakota storm clouds in the sky over the barn is fair; it certainly is a "true representation" of the high plains experience.
