Lol, Took this about 10mins ago. It's still not fully light yet but you can see the woodpecker waiting to get on the nut feeder.
In the blurred background a squirrel can be seen leaving the feeder which is to the right.

well captured, a beautiful bird

Lovely picture. I have one of these woodpeckers come into my garden and I can never capture it.

Great stuff. We've had one visit our nut feeder a couple of times, until the squirrels broke it, that is :(. As a shot, I wondered whether it would work to crop out the feeder to the right, but it's probably sufficiently out of focus as not to be an excessive distraction. What kit did you use?

a bird that still on my list . perhaps this is a year when i finaly get one
great shot.

This was taken with a 400D and my new 70-200mm 2.8IS from Kerso!
1/50'', f2.8, ISO400, 200mm.
It's a young female from this years brood and a regular visitor. The parents had two chicks this year and they visit every day! I read years ago that the feeders should be taken down in the summer as the birds will be too dependant on them but this year I left them up for the 1st time and the woodpeckers brought their chicks down and fed them in our garden.

ps: forgot to mention this was taken through our dining room window.
