A silly keyboard problem !

I know there is a very simple answer to this but I can't for the life of me think what it is.

New computer, (working wonderfully) however, keyboard has a few keys in different places, for instance when I type the @ sympol I get " - these are reversed exactly so not a major problem.

However, no pound sign at all! I've brought up the on screen keyboard and where the pound sign should be is the # sign instead.

I've checked the language is English UK and I'm not sure where to change the keyboard.......I'm sure someone will be able to tell me and as soon as they do I'll realise I knew it but if anyone could point me in the right direction????
 
seems like you have a us keyboard.

ignore - see below, misread what you had wrote.
 
The keyboard is set to US, need to set it to UK.

In regional settings or language options if I remember correctly ;)
 
Thanks Guys! I'd changed it in a couple of places but had to dig a bit deeper!

As Neil G said 3 or 4 places that needed changing...., must be some logic to it but I can't help wondering why ?
