Advice needed for first flash

Need advice as to what flash to get for my 450D. Talking real budget models here and have been looking at the Nissin 466 and 622. Really want to be using it off camera as much as possible for basic studio and outdoor portraits. Which of these is best for that or are there other sub £100 alternatives? :shrug:

PLUS do i need a wireless trigger thingy linked to a hotshoe thingy to use off camera? I understand that the flash will be manual when used like this.

If anyone can show links to what I need it would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to use them off camera with say with a brolley then you be using them in Manual mode you can get some cheap radio triggers of ebay and any SH flash will do best if you can alter the power on them so seek out the best SH you can find.

Just remember you get what you pay for so go for the best you can afford. Maybe worth looking at S/H Canon EX range?

very usable from a learners perspective although the kit lust insists i get a 580 soon

I have no idea about what works with digital and what doesnt - getting tired of Googling different types and geting more and more confused!! :bonk:

Is there a certain EX I should be looking for or certain ones to avoid?

The Jessops one seems as good as any at the minute! (Mainly cause I can see its manual AND works with the latest Canons!)

The Nissins seem to work differently as I've read they dont get triggered by certain Wireless set-ups. Any-one know differently?? :shrug:
