Advice on humidity issues

Hi, We are off to Singapore in April to visit my sister and i want to do some landscaping while there but am worried on the extreme humidity buggering my gear up, Any advice from people who have shot over there will be much appreciated. I think most people put their gear in an airtight bag when they take the camera out and place it back in there once they come indoors, Is this good advice?
