Good morning guys, I was wondering if any of you have ever used a camera exchange service or shop and what was your experience of it? the reason I am asking is that I have a d300s with a few lenses, flash, filters etc. etc. and I am finding it a bit too much for me these days to lug it all around as I am not getting any younger, I value my equipment at around £1600 for the everything and was looking to exchange it for the Sony Nex with a couple of good all round lenses, and cash difference either way, I did put all my stuff up for sale on the forums here but what I don't want to do is split it all up as I don't want to be stuck with bits and pieces that no one wants, so now Im thinking down the exchange lines.

thanks in advance for any help and advice

I've bought and sold through LCE before, and whilst the prices are kindof fair, they are trade so what you see as £1600 to them is probably £1000, but it's all a bit irrelevant really as for you it's going to come down to cash to change. They would be my first port of call as they can supply you with the new camera as well.

Failing that you can sell to MPB, but with the low sales prices it'll be low trade pricing. I'd avoid places like cash converters!

Thanks for your quick reply to this Caleb, yes I do realize that what the layman values his equipment at is different from dealers/traders, but thanks for that Ill check out there website and let everyone know via this thread how I get on.

Another one to try is "Camera Jungle" they give you the option of selling or trading.

Just sent of an email to the two you recommend, just got to wait and see now

Well done the deal today and your post was spot on they valued mine at just under £1100 so I did the deal on a new Sony Nex 7 and an extra lens, some filters/lens protectors, a bag, 32 gig card and some other bits and pieces thrown in, I was sorry to see my Nikon go, but the Sony is ok and a lot of camera, I cant wait now to start using it.
