Advise Needed on Tripod & 75-300mm Lens combination

I am looking at purchasing a new tripod with a ball head. I currently use a 75-300mm Canon lens that has no tripod ring and nor does canon sell one. The question I have is will the camera be balanced with this lens whilst fixied to the ball head by the camera body??

I would be interested to here from anybody using this combination.
