AF assist HELP

Hi all,

I've forgotten how to set up my 430 exII to use its AF assist beam on my 50d, it fires in green square mode but not manual, I had it working fine on my 450d but can't remember how, and my manuals are at home (I'm at uni) so its a bit tricky, could someone lend a hand?

flash settings - flash disabled.
I think there is something in custom functions as well.

that disables the flash fine

but it still wont fire the af assist in av tv or manual (the only settings i actually use - especially when its dark enough to need AF assist

I think there is a custom function as well. Can't check, cameras at home.

its enabled in custom setting cfnIII5 and in flash cfn8

eeeep, still won't work but the fact that it works in green square should mean that it should in manual right......?

right can anyone get any kind of AF assist in any manual mode (Ie M Tv or Av) as I can't get the built in flash's pulsy thing or my speedlights grid and I want it to shoot tomorrow night, anyone with a camera by them please give it a go

found camera reset thingy all works now, thought people would like to know, never worked out what problem was though
