Affordable remote flash system for Canon R5

Godox, Yongnuo and others make "affordable" options that are compatible. Important to remember that the R5 does not fire flash in electronic shutter mode so if you're thinking about 20fps with flash, it's not possible with the R5.

20fps with flash, it's not possible with the R5.
This is really big shame, but 12fps still allows a decent go at splashes for occasional use. You easily get 1-2 usable shots in a sequence. I imagine you'd kill the camera pretty quickly if you did so on a daily basis. Z8 is really needed here. Much better camera

Yongnuo or Neewer if this is as far as your flash journey is gonna go.
Godox if you think that you might want to expand your options later.

Highly recommend the Godox v860 range, I am about to order the mark 3's having owned mk1's and 2's.

One of Godox's strengths is that the wireless component of the flashes is brand-agnostic so, if you change camera make, you can keep the flashes and just buy the appropriate trigger for the new camera.
