This pack of dogs had 14 individuals, they are now down to 6 (including 2 injured dogs) due to illegal snaring on the Mozambique side. wild dog are masters of escapee and manage to get under 3 fences including an electrified one. The 2 injured dogs were snared but manage to chew through the snares. We are trying to capture them for treatment but it is not an easy task. Most of the sanring happens in national park sadly.

Great to see the pictures of one of my very favourite animals, but so sad to hear that they are having such a hard time.

Do you know if these are the individuals who where part of a release re-introduction program (from Zim)...I'd heard it wasn't going very well?

No they were not part of the re-introduction program. They are also ones of my favorite animals.

So calm and confiding around people it's a shame 'we' give them such a hard time (though I accept that if I was struggling to feed my family and these guys arrived I would want them gone).
