After market hand grip options for compact camera

As my heading really as I am looking at all options for a 'none DSLR' for my wife. She was after a bridge camera but would rather have something more pocketable. But the smaller compacts just don't have a good grip and she has numb fingers - carpel tunnel syndrome. So the thought struck me "could I buy anything to 'stick' on the front for that extra grip needed?
