AI lens + Dog playing fetch = Difficult!

A few photos of our dog Jess while playing fetch on Cleveleys beach taken with my trusty D80 + 50mm AI F1.8 lens, which I got for a steal at just over £30 . C&C please, however don't go too overboard on "It's out of focus" and "bad composition", he was running very fast xD

Ok leaving aside any comments about focus and composition as requested (and actually I don't reckon they're as bad as you imagine ) there are two areas of potential improvement I can see 1) They need a little more 'punch' a little more contras (for my tastes anyway ) I guess the light was going so thats tricky in itself 2) they do look a little soft - not dramatically so and I know movement may cause that

#1 and #2 I like and perhaps the softness adds to the scene

#4 is also great - shame you nipped her front paw off (assuming Jess is a lady apologies if not )

I hope thats not all too negative - looks like a fun session whatever the outcome
