Alternatives to a flash gallery?

I am happy with my website as a whole, but recently ive decided what the advent of people viewing sites on Ipod's/pads, Blackberry and suchlike I feel i need to have an alternative for when flash isn't available.

What are the best non-flash gallery programs in peoples views? Also I have read it is possible to place a 'backup' image/s that is displayed when people view on a system that doesn't have flash enabled...

Mainly just after a few ideas/viewpoints on the best way to attack this

iPads are fine viewing flash websites/galleries if the right app is installed.

Ah Apples instance on not supporting Flash "Because it's a rescouce hog" and not in anyway "because flash apps would take revenue away from the appstore" while allowing hundreds of poorly coded fart apps and other apps onto the store

Theirs some fairly capable web based gallery scripts out their. Theirs also an open source one that's quite good ill try and dig out the name

jquery is best used.

Things like Galleria (http://galleria.aino.se/) or Gallerific (http://www.twospy.com/galleriffic/)

These are the ones that a widely supported accross all platforms.
